Consignment Contract
Karen’s Kloset accepts designer and better label items in gently worn condition. All consigned apparel must be freshly laundered or dry cleaned, pressed, and on hangers. We accept only current fashions (purchased in the last 2 years) in ready to sell condition. Shoes, handbags, and other accessories are welcomed in like new condition.
-
Drop and Run is available any time during store hours. If you have more than 30 items please call ahead so we can prepare space.
-
We will go through your items when you bring them in. Any “no thank you’s” will be returned at that time. We reserve the right to donate to charity any items that are later discovered to be unacceptable.
-
We accept clothing seasonally:
Spring & Summer - February 15 to July 31 Fall & Winter - August 15 to January 31
-
Items will be consigned for a period of 60 days from the date they were brought in. You, the consignor, will receive 50% of the selling price.
-
Karen’s Kloset reserves the right to price merchandise and the privilege of reducing the price to facilitate its sale. Any pricing requests by the consignor must be made at the time of consignment. A handling fee, paid by the buyer, is added to each consigned item.
-
At the end of your consignment period, you can either pick up any unsold items or we will donate them for you. It will be the consignor’s responsibility to find and pick up any unsold items on or before your pick up date. Unsold items not picked up before expiration become the property of Karen’s Kloset. Karen’s Kloset makes donations to various local charities.
-
Due to the volume of consignors and clothing, there is a $5.00 consignor fee per year. This fee will be deducted from your account annually.
-
Checks over $40.00 will be issued on the 10th of each month for items sold the prior month. Amounts under $40.00 will be paid out in cash. Checks can only be held for 6 months, so please pick them up promptly. However, you may use money posted to your account towards purchases in the store at any time!
-
Clothing is left at the consignor’s risk. We take extreme care with all merchandise. However, we cannot be responsible for loss or damage to merchandise by reason of fire, theft, or any other cause.
-
Please do not take offense if we do not accept some of your clothing. Our staff must rely on past and present experience to determine what will sell.
